Your Signal contact list will always list users that are on your phone and use Signal. In addition to messaging and calling privately, Signal Android can be a complete replacement to your Android phone's messaging app. If you've enabled Signal as your default messaging app, then you will see all your contacts listed. In this case, you may want to know when your communication is private as a Signal message or is insecure as an SMS/MMS. If you want to message privately with features of disappearing messages and sending any file type then invite your contacts to Signal. Friends don't let friends chat unencrypted!
