Delete your Signal account
We cannot delete your Signal account for you. You must delete your account yourself from the Signal app on the phone where you set it up. We cannot accept account deletion requests by email or other methods because we cannot verify that the account belongs to you.
Requirement: Signal must be actively working on the phone where you set up your Signal account to make changes to the account. You cannot make changes to an account that isn't set up on your phone.
To delete your account:
- Open Signal on the phone where you set up your Signal account.
- Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account.
- Enter your phone number and confirm.
Deleting your account removes your phone number from being recognized as a Signal user.

Don't have the phone you used to set up Signal?
Signal must be actively working on the phone where you set up your Signal account to delete or make changes to it. You cannot delete an account that isn't set up on your phone because there is no way to verify that the account belongs to you.
If you no longer have access to the phone where you set up your Signal account, your account will be deleted after 120 days of inactivity. After that, your phone number will no longer be recognized as a Signal user.
