Signal Pinned Messages

Pin your most important messages to the top of your 1-1 and group chats. 

To pin a message:

1. Open the chat where you want to pin a message.
2. Press and hold the message (Android/iOS) or right-click on it (Desktop).
3. Select Pin.
4. Choose how long you want the message to stay pinned.
5. Tap OK.

To unpin a message, follow the same steps and select Unpin.
 

Additional information:

• Pinned messages appear at the top of the chat and are visible to all current members.
• Tap or click the banner to cycle pinned messages.
• Use the pin icon on the banner (or press and hold on mobile) for more options.
• Chats can have up to three pinned messages. Pinning a new one replaces the oldest.
• Pinned messages are shown in the order they were pinned, with the newest at the end.
• New group members can only see messages and pinned content shared after they joined.
• In group chats, admins control who can pin messages through group settings.
• Disappearing messages are automatically unpinned and removed from the chat when their timer expires.
