Follow these steps to delete a message from each device individually:

- Unregister or delete account
- Manage storage to delete multiple files or messages
- Delete or remove contacts
- Disappearing messages to set a timer to remove messages from all parties
Android
To delete messages for everyone:
This is a best effort to delete messages on all devices that received it.
- Open the chat.
- Tap and hold on a message that you have sent within the past 24 hours.
- Tap delete .
- Select Delete for everyone.
To delete alerts or messages:
Note: Calling information is considered an alert.
- Open the chat.
- Tap and hold on a message bubble or alert.
- Optional, select multiple messages:
- Tap select and then tap any additional message bubbles or alerts.
- Tap settings > Select multiple and then tap any additional message bubbles or alerts.
- Tap delete .
- Select Delete for me to confirm.
To delete chats:
Deleting does not leave the group. You can still find it by searching the group name in your contact list.
- Go to the chat list.
- Tap and hold on a chat.
- Tap to select any other chats.
- Tap delete .
- Select Delete to confirm.
To delete all chats:
Deleting does not leave groups. You can still find them by searching the group name in your contact list.
- In Signal, tap your profile > Data and storage > Manage storage > Clear message history > Delete.
iOS
To delete messages for everyone:

- Tap and hold on the alert or message bubble.

- Tap delete .
- Select Delete for me to confirm.
To delete a message with a link:
- Open the chat with your contact.
- Tap and hold into the empty space outside the message bubble.
- Tap delete .
To delete a chat:
Deleting does not leave the group. Find the group again in your contact list by typing the group name in the search box.
- Go to the chat list.
- Swipe left on the unwanted chat.
- Choose Delete in the red square.
To delete all chats:
Deleting does not leave groups.
- In Signal, tap your profile > Settings > Chats > Clear Chat History > Delete Everything.
- Then refresh your Signal contact list. Go to Compose and pull down on the contact list.
Desktop
To delete messages for everyone:
This is a best effort to delete messages on all devices that received it.
- Open the chat.
- Hover to the inside of the message bubble for a message you have sent within the past 24 hours.
- Select more .
- Select Delete.
- Choose Delete for everyone to confirm.
To delete an individual message:
- Open the chat.
- Hover to the inside of the message bubble.
- Select more .
- Select Delete.
- Choose Delete for me to confirm.
To delete a chat:
Deleting does not leave a group. Find the chat and/or group again by typing the chat name in the search box.
- Open the chat.
- Select more .
- Select Delete messages.
- Choose Delete to confirm.
