With scheduled messages, you can compose a message in advance and choose when it will be sent. Scheduled messages are locally queued on your own device, and you can cancel or reschedule them anytime before they are sent.
To schedule a message:
- Type a message.
- Long-press (tap and hold) on the send icon and select when to attempt delivery.
- Select a time, then tap on Schedule send.
To schedule an image or video:
- Click on the + icon and select Gallery.
- Select an image or video.
- Long-press (tap and hold) on the send icon and select when to attempt delivery.
- Select a time, then tap on Schedule send.
To reschedule a message:
- Click on See all on the popup just above the text field that displays the number of scheduled messages.
- Find the message you wish to reschedule and tap the calendar icon.
- Click Reschedule and select a new time for the scheduled message.
- Select OK.
Troubleshooting Steps:
When you schedule a message, make sure your device is on and has a network connection at the scheduled time. If not, your message will send when your device reconnects. Note that you cannot select a time in a past.
If a scheduled message is not sending or the feature is unavailable to you:
- Ensure you have turned on "Allow settings alarms and reminders" within Android Settings > Signal.
- Confirm that your device is using the system's "Automatic Date and Time", including the correct time zone.
- Check to make sure you're using the latest version of the app. You can always update by visiting signal.org/download
