With chat folders you can separate chat threads into folders that can be switched via tabs in the chat list. This can be useful for grouping chats together into a work folder, friend folder, or unread folder for example.
Default Folders
All chats is a default folder that will always exist and cannot be deleted or renamed. The chats within this folder can not be changed.
Custom Folders
You can create your own folders that have any combination of 1:1 chats or groups. Custom folders can be edited, muted, marked as read, deleted, and reordered.
- Go to the chat list.
- Tap and hold on a chat.
- Tap Add to folder.
- Create a new folder and name it or choose an existing folder.
Including or Excluding Chats to a Folder
You can include or exclude chats from ever being in a folder. Excluded chats will not be included in the folder even if it matches a specific chat type.
- Go to the chat list.
- Tap and hold on a folder.
- Tap Edit folder
- You can include chats or exclude them from the folder
- Tap Add chats to include them
- Tap Exclude chats to exclude them
Reordering Folders
The default and user created folders can be reordered.
- Go to the chat list.
- Tap and hold the All chats folder.
- Tap Folder settings
- Use the drag bar to reorder the folders.
Suggested Folders
Suggested folders come from chats that meet a specific criteria and change dynamically. These folders will first live under ‘Suggested Folders’. After a suggested folder is added, it will be treated as a regular folder. If it’s deleted, the suggested folder will reappear as a suggestion. Similarly, if it’s changed significantly the suggestion will reappear.
